Google Shop VR Tour

For the launch of a new retail store, the Google Shop, in-house agency Autofuss partnered with Mirada to introduce the store to the press before it was open to the public, using a unique interactive VR storytelling experience. This special virtual reality tour is a five-minute walkthrough of the retail space where visitors can directly interact with everything that Google does. The experience gives an informative, up-close view of the Google shop's features and experiences. Created by Mirada, this VR app is the first to seamlessly blend stereo 360º video, CG, spatial audio, real-time navigation, and interactivity. The immersive App “Google Shop at Currys VR Tour” is available to download in Google Play at this page.

Andrew supervised, composited and color graded the six scenes that make up this pioneering VR experience. The team seamlessly brought together multi-cam live action and CG stereo 360 content in this interactive immersive experience designed for the Google Cardboard.

An in-depth look at the app with some additional info about Mirada can be seen in this article in The Virtual Reality Reporter.

Andrew was also invited by The Foundry to present and showcase the unique workflows created for this project and to answer questions on a live webcast at the National Broadcasters Association in Las Vegas in 2015. Watch the recording of Andrew's presentation on our booth from NAB 2015 below.
